What's up all. I went to get an alignent the other week after putting on my camber kit and sh*t hit the fan. I finally find a place that can get a lowered car on the rack and they say the ball joints have too much play in them and hence it can't be aligned right. They say to fix it I gotta get new control arms and tie rod ends on each front side. Then they can align it. With labor this is like $750, way too much for a freakin alignment. Does this sound probable to anyone. Has anyone every had to replace these parts on their cars. They told me it was typical wear and tear on a honda with 120,000 miles. I thought maybe they are just out to get money. This place also doesn't use the computerised alignment like some places so i thought maybe that was it. I am in dire need of some helpful feed back. MY car has been outta alignment way too long and i need it fixed so any feedback asap would be much appreaciated. Thanks guys.

PS Any one know of any places near Lexington KY that align lowered cars? Hit me back.

well that sounds about right to me. i had to replace my upper control arms recently and it was easy shit. i should have done the lowers but they still looked ok. i didnt really have any play in the lowers it was only the uppers. the upper ball joints dont come alone. you have to get the whole control arm and from the dealer they r like 180$$!!! and no auto parts store ive fooound could order them so i went to the import graveyard and got some used uppers with good boots and tight joints and ive got my ride rollin again. thinking the lowers are around 40$ a piece and they could be ordered from the parts store, but you need a ball joint seperator and press to replace them., not too much if the parts store will rent them to you but they r a little more involved to replace. find out if its the uppers or lowers that have play, you should be able to tell by grabbing the tire and shaking hard to see which moves. if you cant tell jack it up and wiggle the wheel by grabbing the top and bottom of the tire and try to move it laterally. i cant see tie rod ends being to hard either just separate them and count threads put new on. let me know if ya need more info.......babys awake.......peace
