Alright well as I've said before its pretty much set that I'm getting a repaint(good thing,my front end is sandblasted) and I want to get a some minor body work done. I know im shaving the emblems off for a cleaner look, but what else should I shave? I don't have a lot of money so I can't do anything big. I don't use my wiper fluid a lot so I was thinking of shaving the fluid heads, which seems to be pretty common. Another thing I was thinking of that I haven't seen anyone do is shave the rings around the door handles. I don't have the money and wouldn't put the money in to shave the handles completely and get keyless entry, but I think shaving those rings around the hands may give it a cleaner look. What does everyone else think?

i think shaving the rings would look pretty good. it is also a fairly good security feature, it's really easy to pop those handles out.

I shaved the front bumper and back bumper to have greater angles also, you might look into that. I shaved the emblems also. When I get a chance I'll post pictures it may give you some inspiration.

I did have my car listed on ebay if you wanna see it? here is the link

take a look at it....the front and back bumper are not as rounded as the typical 2003 accords.

oh yeah, and i put on black halo projector head lights instead of the stocks, and put in a HID conversion kit with 12000K for that intense purple look. Its pretty sweet. I am also putting on CATZ 85w HID fog lights...just haven't gotten aroung to putting them on yet.

I put on the tein suspension and if you do not like a stiff ride, dont bother with coil overs..just way to fucking hard to not make noise and I like looks over performance any day :(

that's was $750 + $200 installation down the drain!

If you're accord has one of the external antennas you should shave it. The antennas look ugly. Im lucky enough to have mine built into my rear window.

i have a 96 4 door internal antenna

yea thats one of the few changes they made mid-5th gen. 94-95 has the external,96-97 has it in the rear window. But yea I was thinking of getting my antenna shaved too,but just wasnt sure how much extra that was going to tack on because that seemed like a bigger job. Another thing ive come across is the weather stripping on the doors. It seems like all the pics of cars I've seen up here,it is non-existent. Does everyone just take it off? Because I'm one of those people that once I notice something ugly on my car,it bothers me,and the thick black stripping on my 4dr is getting ugly looking to me. Am I crazy or does everyone take that off?

Also before I get it painted I wanted to get a new grill/grille. What kind does everyone reccomend?

You could shave all that small stuff yourself and save money. All you need is some time to make sure it comes out smooth. You can get a new hidden antenna from Autoloc (http://www.autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=hab). Get a grille like this

Thats from the Accord store. They want like $80 for it. You can find them cheaper its just the only place I knew where there was a picture of it. But if you wanna go to there site its www.tasauto.com.

i have grills on my cord..i dont have a body kit i just bought mesh grills to go into the stock grills..they ran me $120 for top and bottom but i didnt mind paying that because they arent like your normal mesh..this shit is strong and doesnt bend

from what I can tell on a lot of people's accords, they dont even leave the mesh in,but just put in the grill assembly

you can get the door moldings painted to match your car. I'm not sure you want to shave your washer nozzles cause when you do need them you won't have them, it seems to work that way with almost everything though. Although it would give a nice clean look. Just remember it's YOUR decision, do what you like. Oh, one more thing. If you know your bodyman well see if you can set up payments that way you can get some of the more expensive stuff done and pay it off a little at a time. That's what I did.

I'm hoping to get to my body guy either this weekend or early next week so I can figure out what everything is going to cost. From there I can figure out exactly what I want to do,or rather, what I have the money to do :) On a side note, and in a bit of self promotion, did anyone ever watch the cartoon Thundercats? Because I have all 130 episodes on 13 DVDs for sale for anyone who wants them :)

I would shave the door handles completely and get a power door opener system from autoloc. Here's an example of what it would look like...

you don't need to shave the rings on your door handles, just by the backdoor door handles of a four door and put them on the front doors, they fit perfectly and the don't have the rings on them, and definately shave the side moldings! I did mine while ago and it definately looks way cleaner, the accord moldings are way easier to shave than the civic ones, it only cost me 2 bills.
