take your negative cable off and put it back on on your battery

why neg? i always do my posetive...and dont u have to start it and not touch the gas or anything for a few mins while it resets itself ?

it dont matter which cable it will reset and the time limit thing is wat everyone thinks but not really true

Yeah there is no time issue when you unplug the battery cable.

i thouh tha when ou reet the ecu, you also had to not only unpug the battery cable, but youhad to do something with the conecter to theecu as well...!! at least that is what my freind did with my car... ??

The "official" way to reset your accords ecu is to remove the "7.5 amp fuse labeled "backup" in the fuse panel on the passsenger side of the engine compartment.

Yeah thats how I reset my ecu on my '99. I figured it would be the same with older accords as well.

remove pos.. its ok but neg is better. cuz if a screw driver hits the pos and the body of ur car.. bam.. the screw driver will go flying.. i dont it before.. if the neg is disconnected.. u do the screw driver trick.. it cant ground back to bat... so do neg... its wat everyone does..
To reset the ECU, first make sure the engine is warm. Disconnect the battery or pull the ECU fuse and leave it disconnected for 10 min. Then replace it and run the car at idle without touching the accelerator or steering wheel for 10 min. then turn the car off.
Now you can start it and it should be reset.
