i pulled out my headre heat shield today to paint it and i forgot to plug my o2 sencor back in so when i started up my car the check engine light was on... so i pluged it back in and pulled my ecu fuse to restet the thing, only the light diddnt go off, so i tried my usual method of reseting the ecu witch is to disconent the battery and that worked... so what im sayin is does pulling the ecu fuse realy reset it?

I know in the haynes manual it says pulling the fuse for about 15 minutes or so does reset it. I still just disconnect the battery tho.

If it's just a simple start-up error that does not get stored then just pulling the fuse should clear it immediately.
If it's a fatal error that gets stored in the ECU memory bank (like the O2 sensor)then you need to disconnect the battery cable to reset it.
hope that helps
