maybe it's not getting enough air, all that happens when you push the pedal is you open up the flange in the throttle body, it might be blocked or something
(carbon buildup too, forgot to say that)

Could be air, could be spark, could be fuel. Maby your pump is going, you can feel your car being alot slower if it is, or clogged injectors or there going bad, Your plugs could be it to cuz when you let the car sit for a while the plugs get a little curoded makin it harder to spark a strong one and harder to stark, check your wires, plugs, cap, and rotor to hopefull its one of those cuz the rest is expensive.

One common problem with 90-93 accords and thier not starting is the main relay. That problem will happen whenever the car get's somewhat warm, or hot. The main relay is located under the dash on the driver side. You have to move the cruise control box to get to it. Once you get that off, all the way at the top, you will see a simple plug, with 2 bolts holding it in. Unbolt it, take it out, and either replace it, or take it apart and soder the faulty metal joints. what happens is the facory sodering job sucks, and through constant heating and cooling over the years, the joints break, and some of the wires are not actually connected anymore when they are hot and expanded. This is a simple solution to a fusturating problem. Unfortunatly, most part shops know of this problem and it's like $85 for a simple plug. If anyone is having this problem, contact me, and I can take pictures to walk you through the removal and installation. email dwf137@psu.edu. I did not soder my joints, i just bought a new one so I cant be of much help in that respect, but I can explain the installation with pictures if you are having trouble.

BTW, another common problem that shops want to replace the entire distributor with a not starting car, is the ignition coil. This is located in the distributor, and is a very simple installation, and a cheap part, $25. There is about ehh, 6 bolts/screws to remove and then the part, so its very simple, maybe 10 mins. When mine went, the car would turn over when I turned the key, but it seemed like it wasnt getting any gas. The local shop wanted to replace my fuel pump and lines, which I promptly said no and had it towed back ot my house. I have replaced the ignition coil, so if anyone has this problem contact me at dwf137@psu.edu. I can get pictures of this installation as well. I have replaced everything necessary in my car myself, except now my engine died, I cant do that due to lack of proper tools. contact me if you need help with any of these probelms.
