You must have your car slammed for the tires to be rubbin. I have 18's on mine, and I don't rub at all.

yeah it only a 2 inch drop but i cannot figure exactly on wht it is rubbing. It might be just the road niose from the cheap tire that are on them.

Here's a pic of my 18's on 215/35/18's. They don't rub at all, even when i hit multiple dips.

how much of a drop is that? I'm getting the same size tires for my rims

I really need to get under there and figure out exactly how much I dropped it. All I know is that the top of the tire is about a half inch under the fender. If that makes sense.

the tires i have r 225/40 18 slightly bigger then yours, but i can still get my fingers in between the tire and fender. I think the problem has to be the road noise of the tire because i cannot find any indication of rubbing on the tire.

Yeah that could be the prob. Does it sound louder at times when you go a certain speed? I know for the first two weeks of having my rims n tires, at around 60-65mph, I would hear this soft hmmmmm kinda noise. But its gone now, so I am assuming it was just cuz the tires were brand new.

yeah my rim and tires were used so they are broken but it makes a slight noise as if it was rubing something but i cannot find where though. I guess and long as i don't get a puncture then it should be fine. Hey by the way what kind of rims do you have on yours. I am going to post some pics of my car once i figure how to downsize them.

Maybe you have some 4x4 tires in disguise, lol j/k. My wheels are ADR Sokudos Gunmetal. I like them a lot not only because of how they look but because I think I am the only one in Sacramento that has them. I've only seen one other car with them, but they were white. I think the white sokudos look ugly wrapped in a chrome lip.

Yeah those rims look great on your car and the paintjob is perfect. The rims i have are 5zigen mk5 becketts they look so nice and i haven't seen anyone with rims that look the same.

See, I think you guys are the only people who can understand and appreciate my upkeep of the original paintjob. I usually wash my car every saturday and I wax it every other saturday. I love detailing my car and cleaning the engine bay, its like a hobbie for me. A lot of people tell me that they like my new paintjob, I tell them thanks but its the original paint. My ex used to give me a hard time about washing my car every week, I just tell her that if she has a complaint...to fill out a piece of paper....and put it in the box.

lol that is great i need to get my car repainted because the paint is getting worse. Also the fact that someone ahs hit me on every side of the car doesn't help. It thinks it going to be at least 2000 to get very thing repaired.

It's been a while since this got posted - how is the rubbing tyre thing going? I used to have tyres that rubbed on a different car, and I could tell this was happening cos the tyre was damaged - not wanting to state the obvious or anything ;)

Washing the car is actually fun - therapeutic even. Mine's always garaged, and washed every 2 weeks or as soon as it needs it.

I have been checking the tires and they don't have any damage that i can see. I think it is just road noise or something else with the tires. The tires are nankang so that could be the problem and it could be that the tires have worn unevenly because i have noticed the inside shoulder is worn down. Whioever had these rims before never had ther car cambered from what i can tell.

Are you asking what suspension I used or how much I lowered it? If your asking about the suspension, I have Ground Control coilovers. As far as how much its lowered, that I'm not sure. The top of the tires in the front are about .5" to 1" under the fender. The back tires are about half of a finger from the top of the tires to the bottom of te fender. I hope that helps answer the question you have.

I took some pics of the coilover install, I tried to explain the process without going into an essay form. Here's the link to check it out. You have to set up an account through image station, but its free so don't trip.

Thanks, after helping with the install, I learned a lot. Its actually pretty easy to perform......as long as you have the necessary tools. Thank god for spring compressors and air ratchets.

I took pics during the right side of the install, then I helped him with the left side. He's the mechanic for our team and he doesn't really charge if you help him with the project. Plus its more personable and you get more knowledge from hands on training. I think I am going to get some S.T. Rear sway bars, and post the install along with the coilovers.
