hey guys i finally got pix of my little intake set-up so here goes
i'm getting the best of both worlds for about $15-17, a short ram intake, and an hour of my time.
Items:
3 inch to 2 1/2 hose connector coupling (the black thing in the bumper) - about $3.50
2 1/2 inch to 2 1/4 inch hose connector coupling (the black thing connected to the air filter) - about $3.00
2 or 3 various hose clamps - 30 cents each
about 3 ft of ur choice of hose...i used a thin, very flexible plumbing hose i found at ace hardware) - about 99 cents a foot
silver spray paint - $3.00
black spary paint - $3.00 (i had it already)
tools:
u'll need to follow the same directions as u would to put in a cold air intake
so some kind of hole saw for the fender place, i used a pair of locking pliers and a buffing dremel...don't ask lol, i'm very resourceful.
so basically the only thing i used was a knife to cut the bumper part, the ram air inlet will have to be placed elsewhere for the 92-93 accords.
can u see it?

Ram air piping...painted it silver because it looked cheesy when it was white.

the connection of the hose to the air filter will vary between filters. U'll have to use some ingenuity to figure out the best possible way to connect the hose to the filter with out limiting or blocking air flow.
This set up not only solves the problem of the short ram intake sucking up the hot underhood temps but also seems add about 4 hp@60 mph and close to 7-10 hp @100 mph. I'm able to pull about 7 cars or so on other 93 ex accords from a 60 mph roll up to 100mph...f22a1 is what i have

Do you think it made a huge difference, cuz I'm woundering how to rig it up to my 92 with the CAI.....let me know it you got any ideas. I cut the bottom portion off the wheel cover, right underneath where the filter sits, so I think it might grab up some air.

i didn't make a catastrophic difference but it did more than enough of a difference to justify me cutting up my bumper. I have a g-tech and before the ram air i was reading around .13 -.17 g's WOT in 3rd gear. The g's were bounching around sparatically but after the ram air its been a consistent .18 g's and since i have to keep my eyes on the road my gf has seen spikes of about .2 g's. So yea it was worth if for me. i'll need to see a pic of ur car to figure out the best place to put the ram air inlet tho.

That's pretty freakin slick Antione!!! Makes me wanna go out, buy a bunch of plumbing supplies and go nuts! Are you taking orders for that contraption? Picture it now.... ....Pre-fab bumpers with the ram inlet built into them... ....mandrel pipe bent to shape.... ....filters with ram pipe attatchment... the options are endless. We'll be adding "Antione's ram-air" to the list of First Mods To Do.

i need a clear close up of the passenger side of the front bumper, then a pic of the entire front bumper, if u can get that for me i'll see if i can think of something. Ur already halfway there anyways with the CAI. oh and pat theres another section of threads i don't think u've found yet, instead of going into the tech room go to the main accordracing site and click on the 2004 forum towards the middle of the page i believe.

no i didn't really care about the bumper too much lol. I wanted it to fit snuggly with not much overlap but i was more scared of cutting myself with that sharp ass knife. It was fun...even more fun counting how many times i heard "BOY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?!?!? lol...if i had a dollar for everytime somebody has said that to me :p

not at all...i stick a huge sponge in the inlet in the front bumper...not even air get through there. It's just common sense that you WILL to remember that it is leading air to ur filter, so when it starts to rain i just pull over and stick the huge sponge in, its been in for a really long time now and you all know how much it rains here in FL. But unfortunately i think i have to get rid of it because i don't really see a way it can work with the turbo setup :(...i'm gonna do my best tho to rig it up but i don't think it can work right now

A ram-turbo setup....interesting idea. Have you thought about make the ram inlet on the hood and have it going to a chamber or box that holds the intake filter and would also be sealed off from the reast of the engine compartment. Also thought about a few vents in the hood or somewhere to help with the engine bay temperatures? They get hotter on a turbo car than on an NA so try to take that into consideration. Otherwise, removing the pass. side headlight and making that the ram inlet or making a different front grille that functions as the inlet might be options too. Whatever you decide, I suggest keeping the filter outside of the engine bay or in its own "box" that separates it from the rest of the bay. Just to help on intake air temperatures a little. The air heats up a lot as it passes through the turbo so the colder the air is coming in, the better off you are. If you plan to go high boost, then an intercooler is gonna be the best way for you to go.
