i got a neuspeed front, and dc rear strut bars, and installed them yesterday. they were both such a pain in the ass to install. my subs were in the way of the rear, so i took out the box, and am building a new one this week. but there was such a noticible difference in the ride. first of all, the bone jarring bumps you get from the combination of little potholes and neuspeed springs are minimal now. corners are amazing. i have yet to hear the tires disagree with ANY sharp turns even at high speeds. i would definatly suggest them to anyone looking to upgrade the suspension, and can post some install tips if anyone wants.

whats the difference between tie bars and strut bars

none, it's actually a lower strut tie bar. there are upper and lower, kinda self explanitory.

as for the cost- i got it off top end's website, and did the installation myself.

there is actually a difference since the strut bar mounts on the suspension itself. and the tie bar pulls specific bars tighter

i dont see how the cuscos could even help our cars. our cars are heavy and those bars lil itty bitty. i dont think it would have been worth it.

i put my front strut bar in yesterday, and it did improve the feel of the suspension in the front, the bone jarring bumps like someone had said, are dramatically less harsh, i still get the bone jar in the rear though, im gonna get the rear hopefully this week, maybe thatll help, who knows.....
I know that when i have 2 people in the backseat i dont hear the rattle and feel it as bad when i hit bumps, I dunno i dont think i have enough weight in the rear of my car only because the rear is always the first to break loose on a sharp corner at high speed, and the bumps hurt in the rear BAD...i took out my spare tire, jack and all the tools back there and took all the trunk lining and carpet out, i didnt think that it would make that much of a difference but when its all in a pile it looks like alot of weight, who knows...

As I understood, installing a strut bar across the top of the towers prevented them from flexing (changing geometry and all that crap they write in ads etc) so the wheels track truer around corners, but I never knew that the jarring decreased too. How does that happen? If there's less flex, I would've thought that the jarring gets worse as nothing absorbs it.

I'm also guessing you have a rear sway bar too? Cos the back end keeps breaking loose..... Try adjusting the toe-in and maybe running softer springs.

And all that crap you took out of the trunk - bet it weighs nearly as much as one of the deadbeats (sorry, I mean transportationally challenged) we all get stuck lugging around every now and then.

OK, am I just a dork or what but does anyone have a diagram or something that shows me where to put the rear strut bar. I was looking in my trunk and pulled back the carpet, but I didn't see any spots to hook it up. I htink today is one of those brain lapse days.

it's a lot farther forward than i thought too
flip down your back seat, and take off all the plastic, you'll be able to see the top of the strut mount. you actually don't need to take off the interior trunk panels at all. you'll find that there is a piece of sheet metal in the way of putting the mount on. unbolt this thing at the top, kinda near where the back seat clips in. now you can move this piece out of the way enough to bolt the mounts on, you'll just need to cut some holes in the trunk panels, and thats it.

The panels where I need to cut the holes, will I be able to see where to cut them, or should I try to find a diagram of one that has already been cut? I only looked at the trunk for a minute cuz I have the two 12's in there, plus I was on my lunch break. Also should I wait to install them after I get the car lowered? I'm in the process of gettin some Ground Control coilovers, so if I have to take off the strut bar to put the springs on, then i might as well wait till I'm done. Thanks for the heads up on where to look. I still would've been like what the faa.

you might want to wait until you lower the car, it won't be that much extra work, excet you just have to get to the same 2 bolts to drop the strut. with the right tools, it should only take you about 30 min max, including cutting the panels. what you can do for cutting the panels is take the bar apart. there should be a solid bolt on one end, which you can't change the length, and a rod end, and spherical bering at the other. so put the 2 mounts on first, without the bar inbetween. you'll be able to tell exactly where the bar will go through the panel this way, and just zip it out with a big drill bit, or a dremel if you have one. you may need to take the mounts back off, and reattach the fixed end, just because of space, but you'll figure it out, it's easy.

Yeah that does sound pretty self explanatory, thanks for your help man. Now all I need to do is wait for this character to hurry up and get some Ground Controls in stock. He asked me how much I would pay for them and I told him $250 cash, I hope he is cool with that offer.

Ok, I just found out that he will install the ground controls, and put the new 18's on so that he can adjust the height to my desired height all for $300 out the door.
