I have a '90 Accord EX equipped with rear drum brakes. Where I live there is a junkyard with lots of 4th gen Accords but none with rear discs. I was wondering how feasable it would be to get another pair of front discs and fitting them onto the rear. The only problem I can think that I might run into is the hub assemblies. If the rear hub can be fitted onto the front rotor or someone knows of another route to take, let me know. Thanks a lot.

I was curious myself so any info would be appreciated. I thouyght 92-93 EX's and SE's came with rear discs which were a little smaller diameter than the fronts. Im pretty sure if you found hubs and rear discs from one of those it'd be very do-able. Anyone have any insight?

I'm on the same boat as both of you. I've been wanting to do the conversion as well. I've asked around about the conversion and I was told it could be farely simple. Thre rear hub would need to be replaced. Uhmmm....new brake lines I think. And I was also told that I would need a brake master cylinder from a four disk brake Accord. I don't know how accurate the statements are for the reason that I don't know of anyone who's done such a conversion.

I was thinking maybe even a new brake fluid resevior might even be needed due to more fluid needed but Im not too sure. I would think that this would be an easy conversion. Fun too. Lol

Well, easy or not. I'm going stll going to try and do the conversion. Maybe later on this year......scratch that, later on next year. The closer I come to doing it, the more I'll research it. I ran into a website earlier (this year), some company sold rear disc conversion "kits" for the Accord. It was about 5 bills ($500). Not that by me telling you guys will help 'cause I never wrote down or bookmarked the website. :( Good luck if one of you does it before I do. If you do, please let me know how it went and how much "fun" it was.

I've never heard of anyone doing the front brakes on the rear, but I supose it could be done if you felt like messing with it.
As for the rear disc swap from a 92-93, you need the hub/rotor/caliper, master cylinder, proportioning valve, brake lines, and misc. bolts/fasteners. It's pretty straight forward, but your best bet is to find a wrecked one and grab the full rear suspension/brake setup and the other parts I listed. That way, you know you got every part you need right there. Hope that clears it up a little.

Why are you really wanting to do the conversion ? for the looks becouse our cars really dont go all that fast that we need rear disk breaks and plus any way if you put rear disk breaks on with out having ABS then you rear disks will lock up very easily in the rain or under heavy breaking enless you got a front\rear regulator which would cost alot of money i think
^and when your rear lock up and your front dont thats when you get screwed cause you start fishtailing and lose controll like if you where in snow9 i locked up the breaks in my Z71 in the rear on the way to get my front pads and routors replaced. getting off the highway this dude cut me off trying to make the exit and so a mashed the breaks back locked up and i did and a 200 degree spin right into the dich 4wheel drive came in handy0

Has anyone finished the conversion yet? Im trying to do it to. But waiting for someone who has done it to let everyone know how exactly it is done and what exactly is needed. Wouldnt exactly want to rip apart my rear end to find out that im missing shit and or cant be done.

ur best bet is 2 do what was said earlier yank the hardware off a 92 ex or 93 ex or se. there is a abs resevoir also that is on these models so u'd need to get that too, seems like it really could b a pain in the ass n cost a lotta money to have it installed properly unless u really know what ur doin. this is the first care i had with abs n i do like it better than standard it does help out in crappy conditions like rain n snow.
