OK im gonna try to put in as much detail about the situation as I can...

I recently had my fuel filter changed, and shortly after that i had my timing blt, water pump and seals changed...

i had to readjust my timing, so i advanced my distributor a bit, but today was pushing my car a little bit, so i turned the ditributor back a little bit, cause i heard a little ping like you guys warned me about,

i just drove my car after it sitting all day after turning the distributor back and it chugs when you take off and when you step on the pedal it is really sluggish and bucks a bit.....

my gas mileage doesnt seem that great i have 206 miles on my trip metter after filling up and it sits at a hair above 1/4 tank...does that seem reasonable?

and do you think i retarded my timing too much, could that be why the car feels sluggish?

Im gonna try and adance it back to where it was tomorrow and reset my ecu see if that feels better....

If anyone can give me some insight i would appreciate it

ok to add more, the sluggishness starts at about 2800 rpm and continues to about 4000....

Dude, take it to a mechanic or a dealer so they can adjust the timing correctly for you. Actually, overboost.com has some info on adjusting the timing yourself, but I don't have the tools nor the guts to mess with my engine.

If you can afford it, go to someone who has a dyno so he can actually tune the best ignition timing for your car and the fuel you're running. You probably won't damage your car if the timing is too retarded, but it'll run like a dog (like now) and chew up the fuel (like now).

Good luck.

Grub, thanks for your suggestions, i had taken my car to my mechanic and we reset my fuel maps, and installed a walbro fuel pump, and then timied it with the gun, she is running good now and better than i ever felt.....so far so good
