If i'm bringing up an old subject i'm sorry, i'm deployed in iraq and my computer is way to slow to search the archives. i have a 97 lx and am looking to do a diy rear disc conversion. I already have both hubs, control arms, and rear swing arms for a rear disc accord of the same generation. What i'm curios to know is if from there can i just go buy rear calipers, and have my brake hoses made, and just hook it up to the proportionating valve, or will i have a problem with too much pressure or even not enough? Are the proportionating valves the same on accords with rear drums vs. accords with rear discs? I know that the master cylinders are the same. thanks

ah.. i find it.. here you go.. hope this site helps: http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/tech/0404ht_conversion/index.html
Since we have discs at all four corners now, the master cylinder needs to be replaced to match the new configuration. Why, you ask? In a four-disc setup, a different amount of fluid needs to be pushed to the brakes, and a four-disc master has different valving to accomplish this. Using a flare-nut wrench, LaPier starts the process by unscrewing the fittings at the master. It's a good idea to remove as much fluid as you can out of the master before this, and then put down some shop rags in the engine compartment under the master to catch any spilled brake fluid.

Although i don't have a same year Accord as yours let me just tell you what I found on my research. I'm going to diy rear disc conversion also (from a prelude!!! Yeah!!). I don't know about your car but since I don't have ABS, I needed to get a propotioning valve from an all disc non-ABS vehice, 90-91 CRX or 91-93 Integra. So that's what I got. Otherwise, i've been told and have read that the rear would lock up easier. Ummmmmm, oh yeah, the brake master cylinder: you don't really need one but having one from an all disc vehicle is better. Those create breaking pressure sooner since they're bored out a little more. Hence, less pedal travel. I noticed you didn't mention the parking brake..... 'cause you'll need that too.
Well, like I said, i don't have the same year Accord, but that's what I've found out during my research. Hope it helped a bit.
