when i am at idle my engine shakes uncontrolably (automatic), it's my 91 accord exr and it's had a tuneup, the motor mounts are not broken, recently changed one, the others are in good condition. i have 230 000km on it, it's drives well except for the shaking at idle. could it be because my flex pipe has a hole in it? my engine light is always but all mechanics so far say there s no problem or one that is not visible. but my main concern is the shaking, if anybody can help me with this please pm me or post thanks.

It only shakes in gear right?! If it does, only shake in gear. Like when you come up to a stop light and you come to a complete stop. Your whole car shakes. If that is the case. Then your oil bypass vavle for your tranny has went out. I had that happend to my accord already. I couldn't change it myself so I had honda do it for me. But I don't remember how much it cost to get it fixed.

Heres the thing,if it is the oil bypass valve then i'd have to change the tranny oil, right? But i was told that changing the oil on a older car with as many km as i have(230 000)might kill the tranny. What do u think?Let me know.Thanks.

There is a way to change your tranny oil while running your engine. So it will pump the old oil out and put in new oil. Without running your tranny dry at all. I heard about that. But usually it is when you change your oil and drop the drain plug and their is no oil left in your tranny. Thats when the seals goes out because there is no oil in your tranny. I know how to change your oil with out even taking off the drain plug.
