Dude, Dunno bout your cluster signs.

Btw I had JDM white face gauge, It white face with red numbers/letters. I bought it when I went overseas 2 months ago. It only km/h and there's no Maintenance Required's sign and hole. I'm still thinking I gonna use it or sell it...

you know i havent realy thought about that one yet, i was thinkin about holding onto it for now, just incase something should go wrong with the jdm one.. but if it is all going well after two weeks ill hit you up if your still intrested.... i just wanna make sure that it is all working fine with the jdm one... though so far so good.. i just wanna know what the little light in the top corner means.. it looks like something to do with echaust or something... but the light is on... the oil light came on today, (it was flashing) so i put some oil in the car an it stopped an went away... so cool it tells you wehn you need to add oil.... :D

Here's mine. I scanned it. I'm too lazy to put it on. I believe I have to remove all the needles. Any tips? Don't tell me to get indiglos, I don't like it.

why would i even tellyou to get indaglose... those thigs suck ass, i had them on my car an took them off after about 9 months.. they were so hideouse... (things just look better on displays sometimes.).. as for the gauges that you got, those are nice... is there any flexability to them at all.. if so you dont have to cut nothing, you can carefully bend them a little (just enough toi get them to slide over the needles.. never pop out the needles though, cuase if you do nothing will be the same again...

the problem is, I have to remove the needles. And U know it's so easy to broke that shit. It's not flexible anyway, and U know the center hole for the needle is small. The seller told me I have to replace the original face plate with this face plate. Usually he charged labor cost to installed it, but U know my accord was over here in the US... was not over there. The material is like hard plastic but its transparent red. So in the night time, all numbers/letter will be bright red. But in the daylight it's gonna be white like that. Cool but I don't wanna broke the needle. That's why I need some tips from U guys, if U ever remove those needles before...

Yeah indiglo sucks. I read at the old forum that U guys having lot of problems with that thing...

Oh yeah some differences:

-there's no MAINTENANCE REQUIRED thing
-and most of them are not equipped with Air Bags and Cruise Control.
- all Honda vehicles (at that time) come with ALPINE Cassette Player (CD Changer is optional )
- but they do have VTEC model like ours

.. and of course... Right Hand Drive :D

yea, i understand you want to hold onto the stock guage stuff to make sure everything works. i'm just trying to pick up a cheap stock circuit board. is it for an auto tranny? when you are ready to let it go just send me an e-mail at mase@lehigh.edu. sorry, can't help you with the extra light

I know you people have been asked this question, but i'm still going to ask it. I want my gauge lights to be red. Are there any black gauge faces with red numeration? If there is, who sells them, and if there isn't can it be made? I was thinking of just buying red LEDs and soldering them on the gauge's circuit board, but will that make the numbers and other lights red in the gauges? Also, I was reading the old articles about fluorescent needles. Sounds like a real pain in the ass trying to install them if it's possible. I will try to experiment with my spare gauge assembly next month when i have the time, or if anyone knows how to properly install them, post back.

maybe the light that stays on is a coolant temp light, maybe if the gauges are jdm its reading the temp from the sender as celsius and not fahrenheit thats why its staying on

pyraid-head.. what up bro.. if you are trying to make the gauges red, you can do one of three things.. you can either get red selifane an place it on the backside of the gauges (covering the back side of the numbers only..) change out the bulbs, an replace them with red glassbulbs (not the stuipid painted ones, those will burn out to quickly) or you can get the red gel caps for the bulbs....

i dunno, but that is deffinalty something i will look into though, but im pretty shure that it is something to do with the catalice converter or something.. im not sure, but ill find out tommorow i hope.. but hey you might be right..

no problem yo.. im going to be placing the piaa yellow bulbs in behind my gauges probably tonight.. see how that looks...

update, my unitial thought on what that light was. was right.. it is a heat sensor for the catalic converter... since we dont have a set up like that here, the light has nothing ot plug into.. so there for the light is on casue there is nothing atached to the other end.. all i can do is take the bulb out.. no biggy..
thanks for all the suggestions though guys... :D

apreciated as always...

you might want to just put some electrical tape over it instead. they are led's so once they are out, you'd have to solder them back in. just a thought

jdmaccordbo!916
12-23-2003, 07:39 PM
there led's ?? thats weired, i thought that they were the same as the lights that iluminate the needles... oh well i guess not.. thanks for the heads up bro....

yo matts.. i took apart the gauges two days ago, an there was no led's in there.. they were just little bulbs, they just got a little rubber hing on the end of them.. (pops right off)... anyways i poped that off an the light is now gone.. i also put the PIAA wedg bulbs in there, the yellow ones.. ) it looks tight the gauges for some reason a green color instead of yellow....

12-26-2003, 06:49 AM
huh, when i had mine apart i could have sworn they were all led's for the gear indicators, and warning lights and such. the reason for the green color is the blue film on the back of the guage faces

jdmaccordbo!916
12-26-2003, 12:25 PM
ya i just remembered that one right after i submited the dam post.(about the blue film thing)..lmao.. silly me.... heheheh but the green color is pretty tight though... before i finaly decided to stay with the PIAA yellow bulbs, i had a set of the PIAA plasma blue bulbs in there... but i only had two of them so i took them out of there... when i get the money to buy the other two, then ill put all of the blues back in there... i like that better than the yellow ones... you can also put two different colors in there an have the gauges go from one color to the next.. looks cool as well, an i havent seen anyone do it yet.. so it is original...

as for the bulb thing, i was surprised myself, i was realy looking to just put some tape over it... i went to take off the back peice an too just look at the bulb (led in question) an i noticed that it had a peice of rubber around it... curious as i am, i pulled on it an it came right off.... all that was left was two metal tabs... so i plugged the hole up an put it back together.. but thanks for the info on it though... now we know for future referance right... :p
