I know nothing about body/collision repair but sometime soon I was hoping to put my car in the shop to have it painted/shaved. Can someone give me an estimate of about how much I would be spending to have the moldings & antenna shaved, chrome trim painted, new weatherstripping on the glass, and finally be painted? I know it will be pricey but there are few 4th gen Accords in my town that look good. Everyone goes for the rice look. Also, while I'm on the topic of cosmetics, does anyone know if all red tail lights are offered for the '90-'91 Accords? I've seen them for the '92-'93 4-doors only. I've read you can sand the amber and paint it red but I went to a junkyard and broke a tail light in half and it was molded in amber, not painted. Thanks for your help.

Like you said it WILL be pricey. I know a friend of mine was quoted on painting his whole car around 3500, changing colors was an extra 500. My suggestion would to become friends with someone who paints cars for a living, lol. Or get a job somewhere that does.

Well, got that covered. Family friend's with the best guy in town. But along with being the best, he's also the most expensive. I just didn't want to ask him because if he knew that I was interested in getting work done then he wouldn't leave me alone until I brought it in. I knew it was going to be pricey but $3500 is a lot! Does that include everything being shaven or is that just a basic sand, primer, paint? Thanks for the reply.

That was for the basic sand, prime, paint, but he was doing everything, under the hood , inside of the trunk, pretty much any painted sheetmetal. See if u "help him" take your car apart and get it ready, if he would just paint it. He may even do it for like 100 bucks over cost. Who knows? Its worth a shot

If you have trade schools up by you you should check into there auto mech classes becouse they teach painting and body restoreing like pulling dents, i am not saying go take the classes but you can see if they paint cars becouse down here all you have to do is buy the paint and primer and the do everything else and no labor fees but you have to be on a waiting list and if the mess it up theywill fix it becouse they have certified painters who supavise and will fix their F-ups

Could save you a cuple bills if you can find a program like that near you

Why not just get a 92-93 trunk and then you can get the red ones!
