Sup fellow accordians, I know yall probably seen this a million times with other peoples but I would like to know what I could do with a stock f22. I already got the cold air, headers, and spark plug wires. But what else can I do, I looked into pulleys and cam gears but do I need to modify anything if I get those? Hit me up and drop info. Peace

you dont need to modify anything, but if you get the cam gear your going to have to get it tuned or set right something like that, the only thing youll have to do depending on what you get, is to pull up the motor so.

if you get new pullies i'm not sure whether they come with belts or not, but either way, its not too difficult.
how about a computer chip? plug and play 15hp sounds pretty good to me.
suspension is an area that allows for much improvement as well. wheels, springs, struts, strut/sway bars...

yeah i think im going computer and fuel next if i get my UR pullies for christmas, then wheels and suspension

The #1 power mod is dropping a H22/23 into your car. That being said, here's a few things you can do to your F22:
1) Performance exhaust
2) Performance belts (belts from AC unit, power steering, etc.)
3) Performance pulleys
4) Remove the AC unit
5) Removing power-steering
6) Weight Reduction
7) Head swap (if your not going to put in a new engine, depending on what engine you have you may be able to add VTEC or increase HP slightly)
8) Improved fuel flow (fuel pump, Bigger fuel rail, bigger injectors)
9) Chipped ECU, different ECU
10) !!!IMPROVED DRIVING TECHNIQUES!!!
>11) Turbocharger
>12) Supercharger
>13) Nitrous Oxide
There may be more but those are the main ones. Turbo, Super, and Nitro are all bad for the engine (potentially depending on how MUCH you use (how much boost, how large your nitrious shot is), so do those LAST once you run out of other options. If you have the money, H22 is the main upgrade you'll get an immediate boost (up to about 220HP depending on the flavor H22 you get... thats before intake headers exhaust etc.).

allright so with that, what about mods available for the h22 accord? would it be wise to work on the h22 before it is even dropped into your car? I love my accord to death, i think the 94 accord is an awsome car even if its on the slow stock side. i would never trade my accord for a faster car because ide wrather have a fast accord then say, a new 350Z. I want to tame my accord to rule the streets and the track. so anyway, tips on modding an h22 accord?

okay, first and foremost the H22 is native to the 92+ Honda Prelude. So look up the mods you can do to the Honda Prelude engine and you will see a lot of stuff... probably considerably MORE than there are for our loveable F22's. :) .. For ONE thing you can take a H22 STOCK, and put a turbocharger on it (it'll cost you, but most things do), and get flat out another 100HP without modifying the engine and without considerable detriment to engine life.. Which will put you up around 315-320HP. Not bad if you ask me... that will probably run you about $5,000 for the engine and turbo kit.. plus a few incidentals.

So inorder to get the turbo for my accord with an h22a in it, ide have to search for a prelude turbo kit for the h22a, right?
Since the h22a is basically a direct fit into the 94 accord, will the turbo fit in the engine bay on an h22a in an accord without any modifications needed? I have seed turbo h22a accords but they are all custom turbos and they make them fit but would an aftermarket complete turbo kit for a prelude h22a fit directly in an accord with an h22a?

there are turbo kits specifically for H22-swapped Accords. I don't know what would or wouldn't fit otherwise, but I know there are kits specifically for the application your talking about.
vasponger
12-03-2003, 12:45 PM
ive been looking at turbo kits, im talking to other people who know wbout turbos, seeing if the turbo kits would be swappable the first thing i do know that wont work is the manifold, ill check on the rest.

good enough, we shall all be awaiting more info on the edge of our seats :)

12-03-2003, 04:28 PM
ok the word is the best turbo(on that site) would be the rev hard kit that uses the t3/t04E, they said its a lil better than the t3/t04B in the fmax kit, dont bother with the garrett t25, and the drag kit is missing somethings the fmax kit contains... soooo id go witht the rev hard kit, better tubo, cheaper...more money to upgrade parts.
as for the swap they think the only thing need to be bought to be able to swap the turbo from the f22 to the h22 is the manifold, and small if any at all changes to the pipes. sounds good to me! make me kida want to buy another accord so i can use my parts i allready got...
TheFirstNutZo
12-03-2003, 05:15 PM
sounds good to me too! I love it when things are simple like that... and often-times simple=cheap, and cheap=good :) and if inexpensive isn't good, then buy me a H22, ya rich bastard ;-) hehe

12-03-2003, 05:57 PM
i wish i could man, i cant get the turbo or h22 right now! i dont know if i want to get the f20b then turbo or get the turbo then f22
TheFirstNutZo
12-03-2003, 06:45 PM
oh I was just talking to the whole world... ANYBODY who is a rich bastard owes me (and vasponger) H22s. AND turbochargers.

By the way; what happened to the old forum? What happened to all that valuable information you people spent so much time to gather? Oh, and does anyone know where to get an H22 with 220 hp?
vasponger
12-03-2003, 08:11 PM
h22's dont come with 220hp unless its a type-s, if you click accordracing.com underneath the top end banner it takes you to a page, the link to the "old tech room" is like the 3rd 4th one down....

You talked about the F20b? I believe thats the Accord Euro-R motor, I've heard things like its really hard to find parts for, and the h22 is more widespread, up to you though.
vasponger
12-03-2003, 09:50 PM
the f20b is the beautiful 97+ accord sir engine, the euros came with the h22. and soon to have a diesel.
ive talked to some people about the f20b and like the f22 and h22 some parts are swappable, the intake from all three work and the h22 and f20b headers i belive are the same, as along with some of the internals
TheFirstNutZo

diesel accord? ewww. don't get me wrong I don't have a problem with diesel engines... but accords are supposed to be sporty and diesel ain't sporty, its slow, unresponsive, but torquey.

that sucks. honda needs to make a competitor to the sti, or evo8, (i know, they have the type R) but how about selling it in america. i don't care about the enviornment, just give me a fast car!!!

TheFirstNutZo
12-04-2003, 09:07 AM
I have to admit it WOULD be nice to see a rally car from Honda. Maybe just take the 4th gen and put a bigger engine (maybe the 220HP model?) and make it AWD. That would be sweet :) Call it the "Accord Ranger" or somethin hehe. Anythings better than the new box they made (that dumb looking square SUV thing).

Anythings better than the new box they made (that dumb looking square SUV thing). are you talking aobut that ugly ass honda element.... that thing is hidiouse... have you gotten a chance to drive one yet.. i wouldnt even wanna be sen in one..as for the awd honda idea... a freind of mine just finished his project the other day.. he built an awd honda civic si... i cant wait to go for a ride in it... his current car is a 200hp+del sol..(all motor might i add).. an that thing kills... so i can only imagine that civic.. i would like to do something like that to my accord though.. that would be hella fun.. ive already done the rally thing sorta kinda when i was in ST. Louis..

hey on the subject of faster cars... i just remembered this, when i worked at a the jaguar/saab dealership for a while, they had a saab vigan an it was turbod.. now this car has the same weight dam near as the 5th gen accord does, an it is running 13 second 1/4 miles.. so would that mean that if you were to turbo the accord that it would run that or better... cause with the turbo on it i think it only had something like 195 hp... just wondering...
TheFirstNutZo
12-04-2003, 08:23 PM
Did it have a 6spd transmission? that could have been a factor. Also, what kind of torque did it have? If I turbocharge my 4th gen after headers intake and exhaust, I'll be pushing about 230HP (without building the engine.. just like 6-7lbs boost) so a turbo f22 is about a H22.. what does a H22 accord run in the 1/4 mile? low 14s?
vasponger
12-04-2003, 08:23 PM
nah i think a basic turbo accord would prob be around 14's
jdmaccordbo!916
12-04-2003, 08:35 PM
no it was just your basic 5 speed car.. the only one on the lot that was a 6 speed was the jaguar X-typ... i dont know what the torque an all that stuff was, but i know that it was pullin hard as hell... an we were spinning the tires the first three gears... the fun part of the job was driving the cars, an the owners daughters 240sx.. heheheheh that car was dope to drive, she let us take it around the block whenever she came in... that was fun...

The automatic saabs have special sport modes where with the click of a button you can make the car shift like a race car and engage the turbo's full potential. it was much fun playing with my dads saab when i got my lisence.
anyway, back to the cooler cars, accords...
I really wanna see a street legal accord do 12's. Someone do that and gimmie tips on how to do that. Ive heard of people, that are tuning geniouses, and have made NA f22's do 11's but they strip the cars totally and make them for track only. Ive also seen accords with turbo, an h22, and nitrous yet the cars are still slow and do only 14's because they are all packed with lbs of show crap such as speakers, fiberglass moldings, body work, lights, tv's, chrome wheels not made for top speeds and high acceleration. I have yet to see a street legal accord that can do 12's or less.
What kinda money am i lookin at to make a 94 accord do 12's?
i was thinkin prolly like....
$10,000 on engine work
$1,000 on suspension
$1,500 on wheels and tires
would it really cost more? i mean maby a few extra hundred dollars on making your car lose some weight but honestly you can get an h22 and a turbo for around $5,000 and that other 5 thousand is a good amount for work on the engine. so just the h22 and the turbo alone should push you in the 13's if you drive your car to the redline, right? take off some hundred lbs, upgrade the engine, bore it right, take the ac out, get a nice fuel management system and a good ignition system, get a nice boost controller....where the heck would you be with that???
jdmaccordbo!916
12-04-2003, 08:48 PM
oh an yeah that was a hell of a job, the only thing is they did not pay verywell.. it was only like $8.00 an hour. but the OT was coo as hell... i might be able to get a job at lexus though starting $10.00 an hour.. so that wil be cool as beans...
TheFirstNutZo
12-04-2003, 08:53 PM
yeah.. that sounds about right ElementofRed.. Only thing is, if your doing headwork you can swap in a chipped P28 ECU and make the H22 redline at I think 9200RPM !

its def possible for the 12's, another guy 97sir had the sir with i/h/e and was in the 14's!, thats its with a cracked head, now throw a custom turbo and a shot of gas an there ya go

my daydream right now
i could only imagine pulling up to the track in a, what looks like, a normal i/h/e accord. acting like nothing is wrong as a civic hatch wit a gsr pulls up next to me. i dont need to do a burn out to warm up my race tires, i drove it right into the pits from the highway. u can tell the crowd is a little troubled with the accord being there with that 12 second dial in time on the window. the tree lights up green and im off. i had the same dial in time as the civic and i didn't give it full throttle until the vtec kicked in during 2nd gear and the engine lets out a roar. i pass the finish line in what seemed like a second and i continue to hear a roar as i settle my baby down; its the crowd with their feet on their seats. i ran a 11.053 while the civic was in the 12's because he could only hear my own engine and not his so he had to look at the tach and didn't shift right.....
*SLAPS HIMSELF* out of the dream

yeah its just a matter of priorities. If you put in the wrenchtime you can have a beast of a machine when your done. how true that is, i have a freind that changed a few things on his del slow, an now it is spankin alot of the cars out this way..... it is pushing 200 hp.. or something like that.. so i cant wait to do mager things with my car...

1. Power
2. Weight
3. Tranny Gear Ratios
If you can get those three in perfect sync, you'll own up everything out there.

heh, i was into del sols before i was into accords and i wanted to get one...allmost got a bright green one but i noticed that it drove sideways like it was hit when a dealer man moved the car so i could test it. i wanted a more racecar feel then a go kart feel, plus i did not see myself driving one even thought it might be fast from work i would do to it. ide want the top off all the time and my curly hair might get caught on a tree.

hey... these things keep saying NON-VTEC... My moms accord has a F22B2 that has a big VTEC valve cover on top.. .did it come in both VTEC and non-VTEC flavors? ya my step moms car has the vtec but it is an f22b1 not a b2 are you sure that it is a b2 in your moms car ?? is she the original owner of that car, if not the person before her might had done a swap or somehting.. i dunno... are you sure it is a f22b2...
TheFirstNutZo

heheheh. honest mistake..lol.. my moms got a 94 accord ex, i told her when she is ready to sell it im going to swap all the v-tec stuff out of it first...lol... taht would be hella funny, an tightat the same time... free v-tec swap an then her trying to sell an ex accord with no v-tec...hehehehhe
TheFirstNutZo
12-06-2003, 10:51 AM
yeah, I could have SWORN it said VTEC on it, but obviously it didn't. :dammit: . A free VTEC conversion... that would be pretty hard to beat. Why not just trade cars so you get the other features of the EX model? She'd probably have an easier time selling a Accord LX/DX non-headswapped than a EX headswapped. hehe unless you sell it to a dumbass racer guy, who thinks that "head swap" always means good :) that'd be pretty funny too... when showing him the car casually mention:
"yeah... I even swapped in the head off of the LX model so I'd have more power that wasn't VTEC dependant for easier turbocharging..." or maybe not even mention VTEC just say:
"yeah I swapped the head off of the LX model too... you gotta love the F22B2 head" . And chances are the dingus would bite off on it too.
Granted thats kind of cheap and I suppose morally wrong... but if its a guy you don't like then I guess it is a win-win situation... he brags about something that isn't good like a retard, and you get your moms car sold :)

ok well here is the new deal i think im going to work with.... i finaly got my car back.. after a pain staking month... thank god.. tommorow i get to go an mess with the motor mount an the altinater mount woo whhhoooo how fun..(being very sarcastic on that one)...lol... but after all is said an done, it should once again run finer than frogs hair... im hoping, an i get to go an get all my tires rebalanced as well....
an im not going ot try an bum the head swap off the moms now.. she decided to keep the car.. sucks for me... but on a brighter not, i found a green 95 accord two door 5 speed for sale... an it has under 100,000 miles on it. the only thing wrong with it is that it needs to get the compresion all redone, an the interior redone as well... but it will make a great project car since i can get it for $1000.oo out the door.... that means anything that i make on my other accord when i sellit, an anything i make at work is all going to be able to go directly to the other one, an i will be able to get a swap in it for a good price as well.. so my fingers are crossed on this new find, hope it works out for me...

That is sweet! 1000 for a shell of an accord is unbeatable. Especially in the 5spd version.. Pat's 91 accord shell was 800, and the engine and transmission were both blown and it was a general consensus that he got an incredible deal.
DO NOT let that deal get away from you, thats just .... sweet! I'm happy for you.

yeah he said everythingis intacked still (all windows an parts an such) so i think im goingot go an look at it on monday. since i was there when there was no outside light... the cool thing is he has it barried in the back of the shop behind all of the hatches an the other hondas... so hopefully nobody fucks with it...
but i agree 1000 is hella good for a 94/95 if it is super clean like the guy says it is... he said clean title, so that says something right there.. but i dont remember if he said it runs, just it wont pass smog.. or it dont run, because the compression is so out of wack.. either way it is a steel im sure.. so ill post up on it if i get it or not on monday...
oh an he said that he could probably get me a half cut with motor in it for around $2000.. shiped an all... so im thinkin about that as well.. to many options were thrown at me all at once..hehehhe

12-07-2003, 11:36 AM

jdmaccordbo!916
12-07-2003, 01:37 PM
thanks.. hope it all works out... im thinking at the most if it is the compression that is out, then i would need to get a new block (o darn h22/f20b hummmm) tough desision.. but if it is the head gasket that is out, then i could probly just get the head reserfaced or something like that.. but i dunno.. i dont wanna get my hopes up to high if you know what i mean.. but even if it is just a clean ass shell, then ill get it an for shure swap out the motor, if you know what i mean..
TheFirstNutZo
12-07-2003, 01:58 PM
yeah just make sure you get a clean title.. I'm having trouble getting my title cleared from the previous owner and I might have to litigate if he doesn't get his ass in gear. When I bought the car he said that he would get me the lien clearance form (he said the lien was payed off, so it was just some paperwork that he'd send along) ... its been about 3 weeks now since I actually recieved the car, and we've been back and forth by phone with one problem or another and most recently he hasn't called me back in about a week, so I'm started to get pissed. It wouldn't bother me as much, but I drove six hours to get the damn car and I don't want to have to drive ALL THE WAY up there again to deal with it. Fortunately MyAccord8UrPOS lives about 40 minutes from him so if it becoms a major problem I will give him a call and have him go talk to the guy and figure out WTF the problem is.
jdmaccordbo!916

ya lets hope that you dont have to get anyone to go to see the guy.. he might try an make it seem like you were going to have him jumped or something stupid like that..lol.. (hey it could happen)lol.. that sucks though that the guy is hella lagging on you.. if it takes any longer than i suggest that you take matters into your own hands.. legal actions must be taken.. i mean this guy told you that he was taking care of it all for you, an its been hella days since you even heared from him.. in the court of law, you had a verbal contract an that is just as good as a writen one... just stay on the guy an dont let up one bit..

I'm leaving a message on his phone every other day or so requesting that he call me back and let me know where things are at regarding the form.. It is now saturday I talked to him on sunday, and he said that he didn't know what it was that I needed so to call the credit union that the lien is from (he gave me the phone # and website for it), and to let me know if he needed to do anything else.
I left a message on his phone tuesday telling him what he needed to do, and it is now sunday so it has been 5 days since I talked to him. I physically have a signed over deed, as well as the car, the only document I don't have is the lien release form. I also have both the eBay auction # (shows price of the car), as well as a reciept from the money transfer. SO if it comes to litigation I have a lot of proof showing that I held up my end of the bargain, and that he is just delinquint in his... I just don't want to go through the hassle.

i hear where you are coming from.. sounds liek this guy is a fuckin idiot in my opinion.. i think that you might be taking this farther than you wanna realy take it.. but hey if it gets the job done right... i dont know to much about buying cars an dealing with that typ of stuff, but couldnt you just take all that stuff to the dmv an talk to them maybe he did that shit but sent it directly to them instead... i dunno just a though..

its possible but he doesn't have the DMV in my state's address, and I don't see why he'd do it and not call me back about it that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I'm going to call him tomorrow and leave a message (if I don't talk to him before then), giving him a 1week ultimatum or I'll start taking affirmative action... I think that is plenty of time and its really not too much to ask. I NEEd to get this beast onto the road already!

dude your the one on the west coast, you tell me. We got a 3.4 last year, and now a 4.5 this year. I wonder if we're going to get big mountains on this side of the country? In any event yea Justin I wasn't yankin yer chain. The house rattled a bit, and everything in it started shaking, and there was a roaring noise, like when a F18 does a really low flyover and hits the afterburners.

well i finally got around to re-registering since i was too busy/lazy to do it before. on the old forums i was 94AccordLX, but decided to change my name. anyway, so talking about weather occurences now? hmm....ok. the earthquake yesterday was kinda cool. we didnt have things inside the house shake, but the house itself shoke. i talked to many people from fredricksburg and richmond that felt it really bad. my uncle was in downtown richmond and he said he thought a huge truck was going down the hallway, thats how loud the roar was. hurricanes, been through a bunch. blizzards....not really, just foot of snow every few years, which is alot here. tornados....one hit James River Dr. years ago, i live a few streets from there. and when i was smaller, i was in a car going somewhere at nite and one hit us on Mercury Blvd. i saw it pick up a boat from a dealership and drop it in the middle of the street. all the cars around us were loosing their windows, just popping and shattering. it was an experience, i guess. well gotta get to CPSC, fun stuff! not really, i hate my professor, so boring.

well hey good to see another one of the fella's back...
an vas, i think the crazyist thing that ive seen in sac so far is when it snowed like 2" about a year ago.. now if anyone knows anything about sac, it sits at 0 elevation...<~~~ that is sea level, an it snowed.. so i thought that was pretty cool.. an they had a tornado warning but never saw it... they always hype ish up though when it dont need to be.. so ive not got to see any cool things here in cali yet...

yea i had a close call with my car during hurricane isabel. luckily, i moved my car into an empty warehouse that i have a key to (dont ask), and we moved my friends subaru and another accord(03) and a 89 civic in there. it kinda felt like we were all boosting cars or something driving them up the ramp into an empty warehouse, but it was cool. about half was thru that hurricane a huge limb fell off our tree out front and fell rite where my car sits in the drive way...almost had a heart attack, and my car wasnt even there.
TheFirstNutZo
12-10-2003, 12:08 PM
thats some lucky shit! I really want to ask about that warehouse but i'll refrain.

12-10-2003, 12:29 PM
ya isnt it funny how ish works out sometimes.. i mean you randumly happen to have a key to an empty warehouse an you get your car in there, an after you do that a limb hits were your car should have been.. that is a sign bro.. good sign at that... lol... tell the truth though.. you boost crs hu..jk..

12-10-2003, 12:58 PM
...no....umm...well....ok heres how i got the key. dammit i didnt want to type all of it out but i guess thats what i get for saying dont ask in that way
its a warehouse on part of the building that my uncle/dad/friend owns. they dont use it for anything, totally empty almost all the time. i got the key of the keychain and thought hmm.....
thats a shortened story, more to it but i dont feel like typing it all. so be happy

12-10-2003, 01:19 PM
I'm not happy! anyways yea that is a sign of something, and no i don't boost cars I've never stolen a thing in my life. HOWEVER, if I ever WERE to boost cars, fear not I would steal rich people cars (bmw, benz, ferrari, corvette, cobra, etc). Then sell 'em and buy ya'll H22s :)
