PCV- positive crankcase ventilation. it venilates the crankcase to help with emissions and to regulate the pressure so ya dont blow seals. usually connected to a intake vaccume line to provide a "on/off switch" when pressure is low, its closed, when its high it opens

i dont understand how they r breaking? are they breaking by themselves? they r made of plastic and when exposed to enough heat, the plastic gets brittle which would make them snap when handled. as for just opening the hood and finding one broken, i dont know. something has to be touching it or something. sure your hood isnt smashing it or something? maybe your vac hose is too short? got me, ive not had one break yet and i did just replace mine as part of my recent tune up last week, the hose broke but not the pcv.

yeah i opened my hood to clean it up some and saw it snapped from where the gray meets black.

man, i would alsmot say it sounds like it could be rubbing the hood or somethiing....then again could just be gettin really hot and cracking if youve got headers. i havent encountered this prob myself but seems kinda bothersome. let me know if ya find anything out.

i dont know where it is on the f22b2 but on the b1 its on the back middle of the valve cover, and it goes into the intake manifold

ok good, so it is the peice i was thinking of... my freinds integra was doing the same thing.. shes been through three of them in the last 6 months...what it turned out to be for her was that the front motor mount was broken, causing the motor to move enough that it was hitting that peice up against her front tower bar.. (the tower bar sat realy low toards the motor)... maybe if you have one of those on there, you might wanna check that... just a suggestion..
