A well-regarded chain of tyre and suspensions shops here have been pumping nitrogen in tyres. The pluses are better fuel economy, no need to check tyre pressures ever, and supposedly softer, comfier ride. I tried it out and it's definitely a softer ride - very important when running 215/35/18s. If you all get a chance to get them, I recommend them. NASCARs and F1s run nitrogen in their tyres.

thats pretty cool, do you run the same pressures?
isn't it expensive?
don't you still have to check the pressure? nitrogen would leak just like air.

well, for starters, you'll need to change out your stock tires, for some tyres. then hop the pond where those silly aussies pump all kinds of stuff into your car.

hey myGrub, where ur location at?
im looking for those to fill my tires, couldn't find any info here..
I knew it since couple years ago. It common in my country (now U know im a stranger huh... :D ), my brother did it to his cars too...... It keep the tire's temp cool, and yes.. it more comfy... and soft bounce...
I'm in Albury, OZ - as matts so nicely put . Not too many chains do sell them, even over here. They cost AU$30 for 4 tyres (so about US$23) so they aren't terribly cheap. You don't need to check tyre pressures - the main reason why your tyre pressures change isn't the fact that your tyres are leaking, but that air in them contains oxygen, which will contract and expand depending on temperatures. Nitrogen won't do that. You actually run slightly less pressure, which helps with the comfort factor. I've had them for 2 weeks, and the tyres have never felt under-inflated when you hit a bump, but the grip feels higher.

Albury is East, in New South Wales. Lots of Indo rides over here, and they all go crazy.
