only on cold starts or after its been running too? could be a number of things, id look to fuel pressure first, pump could be going bad. wont provide good pressure intemittenly. ive seen bad sensors cause stalling too. egr, fuel pressure regulator vaccum hose, clogged throttle body, map sensor going out. had a tune up lately?

well the only tune up that that car has had in four years is an oil change, an the transmission as well... im going ot be changing uot the fuel filter today, an see if it does any thing

those fuel filters are a pain to get to... haha just did mine and i cussed at it for about an hour commin out and going in. when you pull the fuel filter off, blow on the feed side to see how easily fuel is getting through. there should be little to no resistance when blowing on it. if its hard to blow through that could be one of your problems. while youre under the hood, take your distributer cap off and look for any signs of condensation in the cap. moisture can cause hard starts or stalling untill the engine gets warm enough to dry it all up. so is it just on initial starts?

ya i never got that dam thing changed yet.. i gave up when i realized that i could not get hte bottom nut losened... its a pain to get to.. an my patients are running thin with this car now... ill check the distributer though like you said, an also im goin to be checking the ohms in the spark plug wires.. if that checks out, then im going to be checking the battery to see that it has full voltage... an if that all checks out then i guess that will elimanate the possibiletty of it being the alt, battery or the coil pack... my next guess would be to say that it might be a bad starter or the fuel pump could be going out... an if those all seem to be working fine, then it might even be a bad capaciter in the ECU... i dunno... ggggrrrrrr it can be jsut about anything..
just today i went out to start my car... (for the first time today, an it started just fine).. i went down the street about 2 miles to the gas station, an when i went to put the car in park it stolled out... then when i was done an went to leave, it started fine, but then stolled again when i tryed to put it into drive..tryied to start it again, an nothing at all.... waited for about 5 minutes, an then it started again... but when i got to the next light before the freeway, it stolled again.. any thoughts on this new one... thanks for your help by the way...

dude, it almost sounds like your alternator is going out have you had it checked out? if youre putting it into gear the alt maynot be putting out enough amps to handle the load of driving. or likewise your battey may not be holding a good charge. i wouldnt say your starter is bad cause you can get it cranked. starters usually make a lot of noise if they are dead. or they dont do anything after youve confirmed a good battery. as for the fuel filter, i left that fuckin bracket off.......haha pissed me off and said to hell with it. tie wrapped mylines to make sure it didnt vibrate and left it at that.. good luck let me know if ya find it......sounds like something simple...batt alt...etc... nothing too involved.

see that is what i was thinkin.. the alt, but i just put a new one on though.. but it is a rebuild an all.. so maybe it is that.. cause it is so strange that it is doing it now that i replaced the old one with this one.. so i gotta wait untile tommorow to take it back to the shop i got it at.. hope that is what it realy is though.. well see.. ill make sure i post up everything i do to the car as i narrow it down if it is not that....

ok so today i got alot of ish done an taken care of... i had the electrical system tested today, an it all checked out ok.. it read 14.3 on the voltmeter.. so that was elimanated out of possabilitlys... next thing that was suggested to me was a bad pvc valve, so i replaced that cheap as $3.40 peice an it still kept on shutting off... so then i replaced the spark plug wires, it did not stop the car from dieing but it made the engine run alot smoother again...
so then finaly i got down an changed out that old fuel filter... an guess what.. yup that is what it was from.. it was dirty as all hell an once we got the new one on there, it started running great once again.. now i just gotta fix my idle speed again.. it is now sitting at like 1200rpm's instead of the usual 800... that is because it was cloged an restricted this hole time... so i have to readjust the throttle cable... but hay at least my car is running better once again...
thanks for the help... hope this post helps somebody out some day with the same problem i was having...

an on a brighter note.. since i got the car, it would not go much more than 120 before trying to shut itself off.. today i managed to reach a big wooping 132 before it tryied that ish again.. so the fuel must have been not feeding thrue enough to go much faster..

the story just got darker...damit, so i started my car thismorning an it started to idle realy rough, but at low rpm's.. so i pushed the gas down a little an let it warm up some.. then it was going just fine... so i took it around the block, an when i came to a complete stop it just died on me... it started right up again though.. when i whent to the next stop it died on me again... so i turned around came home, an when i stoped the car an let off the gas agin it died.. so what the hell is doing this now.. first it was the fuel filter, an i fixed that an it worked fine, now its doig it again...
gggrgrrrrrr malitof coctail sounds good for my car right about now.. i hope its thirsty...lmao..

Fuel pump maybe? It's sounds like some fuel delivery problems - run some injector cleaner. Check your plugs and points again. The rough idle at low speeds could be electrical - but it will not be your alternator. if it was, you wouldn't even be able to start the car.
Is it an auto?
I see a Honda dealer in your near future...

Try checking the MAP sensor, mine was doing the same exact thing and it turned out that the map sensor was not fully clipped in.

thats one thing i didnt do when i did my tune up was a fuel filter, where is it located? is it under the hood or somewhere underneath the car?

its right above the frame on the driverside firewall. kinda below the brake boster under the hood. easiest way to find it is to follow your fuel line back toward the gas tank

Awesome!! Well, if you read my other post about the strange runability issues, you will see similar problems.. The car is constantly dying!! everytime i stop and put it into neutral. dead. (well, it actually goes down to about 50rpm, and jumps back up to 1200, and back down to when it finally just dies.
My AEM fuel filter is going to be here tomorrow FINALLY (after 2 months of waiting on it)!!! -So, I will try it out and hope that will clear up at least a bit of the problem..
BTW, do you have any special hints or tips for me about removing the fuel filter with ease?
