I wecked my 96 accord and we have every thing fixed and now the cooling fan comes on when i turn off the engine and does not go off i have checked all the fuses they are good. please help.

my fans come on when i turn the car off too. i think this is pretty normal, especially in warmer weather.

It is normal. The car has two basic cooling switches; one to open the thermostat and one to turnon the cooling fans. Depending what temp the switches are set for that dtermines when the thermostat will open and when the fans will turn on. The only time you really need to be worried is when the fans don't turn on, thats when you need to start checking fuses

hmm. mine did that too but not anymore.. i dont noe?? after i steam clean my engine at one of those do it urself car wash with a presure gun... my fan comes on for like 5 min everytime i turn the car off.. but noe it doesnt?? anyways.. after i beening really hard .. i turn the car off and it doesnt come on anymore?? anyone noe how to check and fix it so it does come like it is suppose too? THx

the fan never turns off ive let it run for 40 min

So basically what you are saying is that your fans come on everytime you turn off your car and stay on for over 40 mins EVERY TIME?
It is normal for the fans to go on. Actually, I was racing on some backroads with an eclipse GSX today and when i got home i had my car overheated. I parked it and went home to get some windex to wipe the bugs off the windshield when i came out the car was off and the fans were on like crazy for about 15-20 mins. Then they turned off. So if i was you I wouldnt stress it too much if they turn off eventually. But if they keep on blowing untill the battery dies then you should get someone to look at it. Good luck

oh..i wash my car once and week and wax once a month if i can.. lol .. i tink the car likes the wash but the person that is doing the washing doesnt lol
