i was just curious to know that if an accord was swapped with an h22 would u need to replace the springs/shocks to accomodate the new engine? it might be a stupid question...but im just curious

No you don't have to, but if your riding on stock suspension then i would upgrade it because the h22a weights a little more than your f22b1. Just my opinion.

No you don’t have to change new springs and shocks. But your stock suspension is not going to handle the H22 for performance, because your suspension was set up for a F22. But if you want to get all the performance out of the engine and the car, I would say change your suspension. I don't know if that made since. But if you add more power you have to change your suspension to balance everything out. If you add more power it is harder to control your car because you have a weaker suspension. Do you kinda get what I mean?

yea i get wat u mean, so if i already had lets say koni yellows and ground controls for the accord before swapping, i wouldn't need to get a new setup for the front suspension? cuz i was thinking the front of the car might weigh like a prelude so you'll need to get prelude struts and springs. so the bottom line: the aftermarket shocks/struts/springs/coilovers u get for the f22 will also work with the h22 is that right?

im pretty sure thats right cuz i asked the same question awhile ago and people said that aftermarket shock and springs would work. But im not completly sure though.

Yea after market spings, shocks, and struts will work perfectly fine. But it better be like name brand. Don't go cheap if you are trying to get all the performance out of your car. Think of it this way. If you buy something cheap you are going to only get cheap performance out of your car. If you go spend a little more money for name brand parts you are getting your money worth out of it. It wouldn't be a name brand part if it wasn't good. So spend a little more and get a lot better performance.
But I was saying before is. You shouldn't run a H22 on Stock Accord OEM suspension because it wasn't made to hand that much power. You are not going to get the full potential out of the car.

yea i was asking beacuse i didn't want to have to spend hella money by changing the suspension when i get my engine swap in a few years. cuz i was planning to get the koni yellows and the pro-kit or coilovers after i do all the engine mods then put a new suspension for the engine. but i can use the konis and pro-kit now, so i'll probably be saving up for the suspension first. thanks for the help, very happy i can lower my car now
