hi guys im new to this site and so far im quite impressed.
i have a question about doing an h22 swap in my '96 accord ex.
my question is Does anybody know if a 2000 H22 will drop into my car without changing the motor mounts or any other complications. i have the complete motor and tranny, its 5 speed and i have a p13 automatic computer that i plan on rechipping, i also have the drive shafts( will they fit?). i need to know as soon as possible because im buying the motor soon and i want to make sure its not too much work before i get it.
also once i do get the motor can anybody recommend what kind of headers i should get 4-2-1 or 4-1 i want a quicker bottom end rather than a better top end.

thanks a lot, great site

you missed a lot of the wiring problems 95 and older accord have, since you have the obd2 ecu. you might need to move one mount, but not far, and just weld it on there. you will need the 5 speed ecu, your auto won't work
4-2-1 headers will give you better lower end/midrange power than 4-1 will, and they are also easier to install. dc sports is probably the most popular. just remember that you'll need an h22 header, and an accord cat back exahust. they don't line up perfectly, but any muffler shop will be able to make you an adapter.

thanks i wasn't sure about the headers. the ECU i have is from a 94 prelude but it's automatic. if i rechip it will it work with the 2000 manual tranny? i already have a catback exhaust and the motor im getting comes with the header so all i need is to move the mount. thats good to know that it won't be too much work.
thanks for your help

all that rechipping the ecu does is adjust the air/fuel curves for more power. even the rechipped ecu will not work with the manual transmission.
